THE ROLE

XTX is looking to expand its in-house hardware program to include the design and manufacture of custom PCBs for a variety of trading projects. We are looking for an experienced candidate to work with our technology teams, including our silicon team, to understand the board and system requirements and take designs all the way from schematic capture and component selection through PCB layout to management of prototype production. This role will be based in our Bristol office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schematic capture of board designs including power supply design.
  • Design and layout of PCBs including high-speed SerDes links.
  • Liaising with PCB manufacturers and component suppliers.
  • Optimising designs for manufacturability, cost and performance.
  • Assist with silicon and board bringup activities.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Approximately 10+ years’ experience of schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer, Kicad or other industry standard tools.
  • Good understanding of PCB signal integrity, materials and stack up options, trace matching and impedance control.
  • Ability to design complex multi-phase power supplies.
  • You should be comfortable working autonomously, owning significant projects from ideation to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to expand your skill set.
  • Experience of selecting and procuring lab/test equipment is desirable but not essential.
  • Hand and reflow soldering skills are desirable but not essential.
