The Role

We are expanding our Information Security team to take on new remits such as the inclusion of a security layer in SDLC, and automation to improve our capacity to fulfil the various functions we are responsible for (e.g. Vulnerability Scanning, Security Monitoring and Incident Response).

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for XTX Markets users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will work with software engineers to proactively identify security flaws and engineer technical solutions to a defensive mindset.

As XTX Markets' handle information at a large scale and across multiple locations, we need to anticipate and protect against attackers. You will work closely with teams to improve our detection capabilities, and to design defence-in-depth controls that limit attackers' ability to move inside our network. This role will also require you to support the company needs to fulfil compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical security assessments, penetration tests, code audits, and design reviews
  • Design and build tools to support vulnerability scans and threat detection
  • Design controls and improvements to sharpen our capabilities to defend against attackers in close cooperation with the teams responsible for implementing them
  • Utilize deep understanding in software engineering and its processes to advocate for secure engineering practices throughout XTX Markets
  • Document and present results to a variety of target audiences, ranging from highly technical engineers over non-technical subject matter experts to senior leadership

Essential Attributes

  • Knowledge of security fundamentals, common vulnerability classes, attack patterns and root-cause analysis
  • Knowledge of computer Science fundamentals (operating systems, data structures, algorithms, networking, etc) and 3+ years of relevant work experience in a security role
  • Ability to perform design reviews and/or technical assessments of software and infrastructure.
  • Solid programming skills (language does not matter)
  • Ability to assess risk profiles and propose effective strategies to strengthen Information Security both at a technical and at organizational levels
  • Collaborate with various team on proposals to enhance Information Security

Desirable Attributes

  • Offensive security mindset and bug hunting skills
  • Related development experience in a security monitoring, security testing, security response, vulnerability research, cryptography engineering or other security role is a plus
  • Knowledge of common requirements set by regulators and associated certifications
